Body signals that point towards vitamin D deficiency

We are seeing a rise in young adults complaining of frequent bone pains, fractures at the slightest twist or fall, muscle pains with exercise or prolonged standing and above all Depression.

Additionally, seemingly smaller problems like hair fall, frequent cough and cold, poor wound healing, and constant weakness or tiredness can also indicate towards underlying Vitamin D deficiency

Common causal factors for vitamin D deficiency are:

  • Dark skin.
  • Ageing
  • Overweight or obesity.
  • Not eating much fish or milk.
  • Living far from the equator where there is little sun year-round.
  • Always using sunscreen when going out.
  • Staying indoors.
